ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Norseman Boatyard is hiring! Norseman Boatyard has been in business for over 40 years with a great reputation among the boating community. We strive to provide top notch customer service in an effort to drive repeat business with our client base. Our company is currently undergoing a large expansion that will double the size of the yard and allow us to service vessels up to 120’ in length. The investment into the Boatyard requires an experienced Travelift operator to safely haul these 100+ foot vessels. The ideal candidate will have 3 years previous experience operating a 150 ton boat hoist. This is a high-paced opportunity to join a well-functioning team. The Lead Travelift Operator role is for a detail-focused, highly reliable, team player who will support the Norseman team in managing non-maintenance yard operations. They will be responsible for transporting vessels into, around, and out of the yard, securing vessels in their pads, and managing non-maintenance equipment. The position requires a flexible problem solver with a positive can-do attitude. They must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift or carry objects up to 50lbs. Prior experience as a marine travelift operator is required. Job duties include: • Operate various heavy marine equipment as required in a safe and efficient manner. o 60 ton hydraulic transporter o 100 ton Boat Hoist o 150 ton Boat Hoist o Forklift 6500lbs capacity • Manages boatyard parking space usage. • Safely secures vessel through blocking at bottom and sides according to size, weight, and weight distribution. • Pressure washes boats when required. • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs daily equipment inspections. • Work around all types of moving equipment and vessels. • Perform laborer duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS • 3+ years of relevant experience, with particular emphasis on customer service • Prefer minimum two years’ experience operating 150 TON Travelift Boat Hoist • Strong communication skills and attention to detail, as customer interaction is a key part of the job • Valid Drivers License
